ALTAWIND ENERGY
Osceola formed AltaWind Energy (“AltaWind”) www.altawindenergy.com, in partnership with Mariah
Wind LLC and holds approximately 45% of the common stock.  AltaWind is headed by Steve Quoy, an investment banker with substantial utility experience.  Osceola also has board representation.

AltaWind is a wind energy company committed to the implementation of environmentally responsible, economical, renewable energy solutions in the US, through the development of utility scale wind energy projects.

The company is strategically acquiring a diverse portfolio of energy producing wind assets in multiple locations throughout the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.  Projects at an early stage of development are located in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Montana and Pennsylvania.

AltaWind is engaging a comprehensive development strategy in areas, where, according to the American Wind Energy Association, in excess of 80% of the
wind potential in the US resides.

The six projects already under development represent over 900 MW of wind capacity if utilised to full potential.  AltaWind’s approach is to develop, or joint venture sites, with the following attributes:

Superior wind resource

Adjacent to existing or large scale transmission infrastructure

Ability to distribute electricity within multiple power markets

Power generation friendly state and local zoning requirements

Receptive community and landowners

Favourable economic development incentives

The current strategy is to install one or more meteorological stations collecting wind data at each site to ascertain initial project feasibility.  Concurrently the company is actively pursuing transmission/ interconnection studies, project design, permitting, environmental and engineering work required for project development.

On project completion the facility can be made operational, providing clean, sustainable energy for future generations.

The ultimate goal is to build medium to large scale wind farms owned by AltaWind and selected operating partners.
